The Woodwork curriculum begins formally in Class 5 (Yr 6) with students learning the use of hand tools while completing projects such as Purerehua, bows and arrows, and chopping boards. Throughout the subsequent years students work with different woods to understand their uses and material qualities while completing practical tools and utensils, and mechanical projects with moving parts.
