To awaken creative powers and learn useful skills applied to a range of different mediums, students in the Handwork classroom work with design, colour and form to transform, manipulate and construct items in leather, fabric, wool, paper and recycled materials.  Practical skills are developed in an artistic way to complete an item of beauty, with a strong consideration to the functional aspect.  Students learn to use the correct tools by responding to the properties of the material, with a deep consideration in design.  The earlier years are based around developing skills, building blocks for each year, starting with weaving cloth, sewing hoodies and culminating in designing, pattern making, and constructing a garment for the school ball.
