The focus for senior students moves to more complex processes, manipulation and joinery across a range of hard materials. Students make coffee tables and deer antler pendants, or Taonga, using traditional and contemporary carving techniques. The curriculum is rounded out through the making of acoustic phone speakers, electrical lamps and, finally, a significant item such as a dining table, water feature or pou whenua.
