Nau mai, haere mai ki Raphael House Rudolf Steiner School.

Welcome to our beautiful kura, nestled in the bush-clad hills of Lower Hutt. Set on 12 acres of natural landscape, our school offers children and young people aged 4 to 18 a holistic Waldorf education that truly nurtures the head, heart, and hands. Tino waimarie tātou hoki – we are indeed fortunate!

At Raphael House, we are inspired by our vision of sparking a lifelong passion for learning through a holistic curriculum journey. Every child’s educational pathway is seen as a journey of discovery—unfolding their individuality, creativity, and sense of purpose within a caring and connected community.

Our dedicated team of kaiako and support staff work with deep understanding of the rhythms and stages of childhood development as described in Rudolf Steiner’s pedagogy. This enables us to offer rich, developmentally aligned learning experiences—integrating academic, artistic, practical, and social dimensions. From the wonder-filled early years through to the independence of Class 12, students are encouraged to engage fully with learning, with themselves, and with the world around them.

Underlying all that we do is the belief that each young person carries a unique spark—their own potential and purpose. Our role as educators is to nurture that spark into confidence, capability, and compassion, so that our graduates step into the world as grounded, creative, and socially responsible individuals.

With around 300learners, Raphael House is a vibrant, diverse community of tamariki, rangatahi, whānau, and kaiako—learning, celebrating, and growing together. We warmly invite you to experience the magic of a Waldorf education and the sense of belonging that makes our school so special.
